How to order a custom cake from Duc de Lorraine
Do you dream of a cake that reflects your personality, but don't know where to start? At Duc de Lorraine, placing a custom order is simpler than it seems. Here's how it works, from the first contact to the final tasting.
1. Inspiration.
Before contacting us, take some time to gather your ideas: a color, a theme, a photo found on Pinterest, or simply the number of guests you'll be feeding. The more details you give us, the easier it is for us to create a cake that reflects your style.
2. The consultation.
Our team is available to chat with you in-store, by phone, or by email about flavors, portion sizes, shape, and decorating style. It's the perfect time to ask any questions you may have, including gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-friendly options.
3. Confirmation and deposit.
Once the details are finalized, a deposit is usually required to reserve your date on our production calendar. Since artisan bakeries make each cake by hand, spaces are limited, especially on weekends.
4. Creation.
Our pastry chefs take over and shape your cake according to the agreed specifications, using the same quality ingredients as our products in store.
Collection or delivery
On the appointed day, collect your creation on the agreed date or opt for delivery, depending on your needs. For custom orders requiring specific on-site installation, our chefs can also come to your location to ensure the setup and final adjustments of your creation.
If you wish to benefit from any of these services, please inform us at the time of your request so that we can plan the necessary steps and logistics.
Our advice: for a major occasion (wedding, birthday, corporate event), plan your order as early as possible. For a smaller celebration, a few days' notice is usually sufficient. In any case, feel free to contact us to find out our current lead times, as they vary depending on the time of year.
